An Alien Shifter for October

By Lindy Moonhill

Deal Ends: Mon 5th October

The galaxy’s most feared alien shifter lord just bought her at auction. Her paintbrush will be his undoing.OCTAVIAI came to the outer systems to paint strangers’ faces—and to outrun my own life.Instead I was drugged, caged, and sold.Lord Skarreth is a nightmare made flesh: obsidian skin, ice-blue eyes that promise death, and a beast form that isn’t wolf, isn’t bear—isn’t anything with a name. They say none survive his estate. But he doesn’t kill me. He makes me an offer. One portrait. Six weeks. Paint the monster the galaxy fears… and buy my freedom with it.I paint what’s true. That’s the problem.Because the longer I study him—the cruelty that never quite reaches me, the monster who critiques my brushwork, the kindness bleeding through the mask—the less he adds up.What’s true about Lord Skarreth could burn down his world. And take me with it.SKARRETHFor seven years I’ve worn a monster’s face—a reputation soaked in blood, terrifying enough to keep my enemies exactly where I need them. Then she steps onto the auction block—an artist with fire in her eyes and paint-stained hands I can’t stop imagining on my skin.I should have let her go like all the others.I couldn’t.Octavia sees too much. Paints truths that could unravel the lie holding my power together—and the secret that keeps hundreds of lives hanging on my performance. She’s a complication I can’t afford. A witness I can’t silence. And when she reaches for my beast form without fear—when she looks at me like I’m a man instead of a monster—I stop wanting to be feared.I start wanting to be seen.Every session in her studio, every truth her brush drags out of me, pulls us both toward the one thing more dangerous than exposure. More dangerous than war.Hope.Tropes you'll love:Alien Shifter RomanceGothic “Beauty & the Beast” in SpaceMonster by Reputation—Something Else Entirely UnderneathHe Falls First (“Mine. That one.
