The Life and Loves of Lucky the Dog

Preacher Wesley Aames discovers his beloved three-legged dog Lucky has been shot by Matthew, a developmentally disabled man who loves the dog and was playing with him when he accidentally discharged Wesley's gun. As Wesley rushes Lucky to the animal hospital fighting for the dog's life, he must wrestle with his anger toward Matthew while his church community rallies around both the crisis and the complicated question of forgiveness. The story explores whether Wesley can extend the same grace he preaches about when faced with the potential loss of his closest companion.
