Darkness

I’m darkness. She’s the light I should stay far away from. My world is cold, unforgiving. Death doesn’t scare me; I’ve lost before, and I won’t let myself care again. She’s the opposite—bright, hopeful, always searching for that fairytale prince. But I’m no hero. I’m her worst mistake waiting to happen. Yet somehow, her touch burns into me, her laughter breaks through the ice in my veins. I should walk away. I should keep her safe from the dangers that shadow me. But she’s become my addiction. And even though I know I’ll ruin her, I can’t let her go.
